It
turns out that not only did BARBARA WALTERS conk her head when she fell down
some stairs party at the British Embassy the weekend before last, now she has
chickenpox, which is extending her hospital stay. Always ones for the dramatic,
the National Enquirer says the fall was a lot scarier than has been let on.
Someone who was at the party said Barbara was covered in blood from a gaping
wound on her forehead. Still, they say she asked for her car keys and was going
to drive home.  Instead, she was rushed to the hospital, where she was held so
that doctors could monitor her for life-threatening complications from the
injury.

GEORGE
CLOONEY is in Germany filming a movie and he picked up the tab for a diner at a
trendy Berlin restaurant over the weekend.  Clooney was afraid his dinner party
had been too loud, so he paid for the guy’s meal.  Not only was the man stunned
that Clooney picked up his $134 tab, he said Clooney and his friends hadn’t
disturbed him and he had no idea who George was.
With
SARAH PALIN out at Fox News, the University of Minnesota's Eric Ostermeier, who
apparently has a lot of time on his hands, tallied up all of the words Palin
spoke during her three years on Fox News, and divided them by the $3 million she
made while she was there.  His findings were that she spoke 189,221 words on air
during that time, which works out to $15.85 per word.
