What gets on my nerves:
1.People who drive slow in the left lane.
3.People who show up at your house without notice (I love company but that's just rude!)
omg what if Jay Leno drove slow in the left lane to show up at my house, that might very well do me in....

There are actors who like their fans, then there are actors who actually CARE for their fans. Doug Davidson from Young & the restless would be in that second category I believe. His fans return the love AND THEN SOME.
I've met Doug a few times now on the Rick Springfield & friends trips (he has been on all of them) and I can honestly say he is one of the most genuine, kind actors I have ever had the pleasure to meet. If you'd like to see some of the funnier side of Doug, click the videos to the left side of this page (the pics with Rick and I in "tadaaa" pose and Jack Wagner and I) to watch recaps of the last two trips. But check out this video that superfans Jewell Margolis and Lisa Pettit have put together for Doug's birthday this Thursday! VERY sweet :)
Today in Dayton a local WWII hero will be brought to his final resting place at Calvary Cemetery.

Herb Stachler was a 94 year young man who was as humble as he was sweet. But he was indeed a HERO. It has been my pleasure to know this wonderful man and spend time with him at Moraine airport on many occasions. I knew him as a wonderful friend. My husband and my pilot friends knew him as much more.
Four years ago, Herb was introduced to our friend Andy Heins. Andy kinda took Herbie under his wing and the group of pilots embraced Herbie with open arms. I am very VERY proud of Andy because he really introduced Herbie to four really great last years hanging out with a group of people who idolized him. Although Andy feels he was the lucky one. I asked Andy for help in writing this blog because I knew he could do it justice....
"Today we lost a true American hero....Capt. Herb Stachler "Lil Herbie" U. S. Army Air Corps to all who knew him. Herb flew 102 combat missions in P-47's with the 366th Fighter Group in WWII, won the Belgian Croix de Guerre, Distinguished Flying Cross, 18 Air Medals, and numerous other awards and citations. He came home, married a young lady who he attended high school with and had 10 children.
Herb came into my life four years ago by chance. I thank Mike Hartman and his parents for introducing me to Herb. Herb reminded me so much of my own father and it was if I had him back again. Herb became part of our airport group and enjoyed flying with all of us in the antique and classic aircraft. He was a regular at all hangar parties and even hosted a few cocktail parties himself. He had a zest for life and lived every day to the fullest. I was lucky in being able to share so many amazing aviation experiences the past four years with Herb, including Oshkosh this summer where he was honored by the Texas Flying Legends Museum.
Herb was a true friend and I will miss our weekly talks, our flights together and our cocktails afterwards. God Speed Herbie.....may you always have blue skies and tailwinds! I will miss you dearly." -Andy Heins
As Herbie is laid to rest at Calvary cemetery, his pilot friends are planning to honor him in the best way they can. Weather permitting they'll do a fly-over in missing man formation as one breaks and heads west. I will be in one of the airplanes.
**UPDATE Sadly, weather did not permit the flyover for most pilots :(

We will miss you Herbie.
Thanks to everyone who came out for a great event for a great cause!
This pic below is the kind of thing you don't see every day...Artists meeting and greeting each other!
Wow this is SO cool!
With the partial Government shut-down, the military jets could not fly above the stadium during the National Anthem. So a group of 49 home-built RV airplanes flew in formation for the event blowing pink smoke! After watching this video of the fly-over, do yourselves a favor and watch the other videos of the set up to this at www.airpigz.com. INCREDIBLE!!!
The reason we found this is because my husband and I are building an RV10 Airplane now! :)
40 Days and counting til The Rick Springfield & friends trip to Club Med Port St. Lucie! I am getting time in at my favorite med spa (Fountain of youth- Centerville) and preparing!
They have put out a request for people to audition to be part of the trip talent show and I have decided to try. The request is for people to send in a video of yourself performing - no longer than 30 seconds long. It doesn't have to be singing but that's all I've got so here is what I submitted!
Wish me luck! :)
Wow this song/video is ON FIRE!!
During our radiothon Thursday for The Ronald McDonald House, Actor/Singer/Writer Steve Burton said we could play the new song "You Killed Romeo" by Jonathan Jackson (Former General Hospital / Nashville star) and Steve (former GH / Young & the restless star). They co-wrote the song, Jonathan sings and plays and Steve on backup. As soon as I mentioned it during our special charity "Pay-4-play" the Ronald McDonald volunteers said the phones lit up! THANK YOU for all who donated!
Wednesday Mix 92.9 Nashville will play it during an interview with the guys! But I think Mix 107.7 was the official first to put give it radio play?!
Here is a special message from Jonathan and Steve regarding the song AND the video showing how it was recently featured on The Young & The Restless! Enjoy! Oh, and "You Killed Romeo" is available on itunes ;)
I got a second Velashape treatment at Fountain of youth Med Spa in Centerville!! If you're like "what the heck is VELASHAPE??" You are not alone! I had never heard of it before until it was on tv (Dr. Oz I think? or maybe the Doctors?) I did hear recently that Kim Kardashian had it done on her show. To me it kinda feels like a warm massaging body vacuum that melts underlying fat and tightens up the skins so cellulite is less visable. You are supposed to get a few treatments before visable results but I felt a difference after just one and after this second time I can see a difference in the way my pants fit! I'll keep you updated...
After the saddest day of the year for me, it's nice to be able to blog about something really HAPPY! The Mix 107.7 Radiothon for Ronald McDonald House 2013 is now in the books. What a terrific feeling to know we were able to be a part of something so wonderful! The money raised today will help sustain the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.
The radiothon would not have been as successful without some key people and I would like to recognize a few of them.
GREG MCAFEE! Oh my goodness...between McAfree Heating & Air and The McAfee Foundation for Children and youth, Mr. McAfee sits with us alllll day (WE do it in TWO shifts!) not only donating his time but money too. Not just a minor donation here or there...SEVERAL TIMES during the day he matched donations giving thousands of dollars. Thousands. Now, we've all heard the McAfee Heating and Air motto right? It's Greg McAfee saying "You can count on my company, because you can count on me" Umm....I'm pretty sure we've all learned that we can INDEED count on Mr. McAfee!
The wonderful folks from the Ronald McDonald House! They are so helpful and giving and caring! What a great crew and what a great facility! I'd extend this also to the volunteers who covered the phones. :)
Several media friends came out to support the cause! Dan Edwards, Jamie Jarosik, Megan O'Rourke...Jim Bucher! Oh my gosh Jim Bucher came out TWICE! We really have wonderful people who represent Dayton!
Steve Burton. Yep, the Soap star known as "Jason" on General Hospital and now "Dylan" on Young & The Restless. I tweeted we were trying to raise money for charity by doing our annual pay-for-play. It just so happens that a couple of days ago a song was featured on Y & R co-written by Steve and Jonathan Jackson that made social media go wild! So I got a message from Steve on twitter saying we could play the song and sent the link!! I announced that on the air and then when I walked to the phone center the phones were lit up! They said almost instantly they had the donations to play it :) It's on itunes by the way. "You Killed Romeo". GREAT TUNE!
Most importantly, everyone who donated from our area and even other areas. The Ronald McDonald House needed those donations, every single one. Without you, not only parents, but CHILDREN would suffer. That's the bottom line. So we THANK YOU for giving :)
Greg McAfee, Me, (NO I'm not doing THAT!!) & Jeff Stevens It's The McAfee Heating & Air motto acted out...get it? "8 to 8 at the same great rate" So this is our 8 2 8 ;)
This is the phone volunteers, my new fellow-sparkle pal and Mix 107.7 pal Mr. Walter May & pal
I love these smiley props! Here Greg McAfee and I see how smiley we can get and Jim Bucher shows me the difference between when his wifi works and.....doesn't. LOL
There IS one way to help without costing you a dime! Right now they are trying to get "likes" on facebook. McDonalds donates $1 for each like toward their goal. As of this afternoon they were only about 43 likes away from reaching that goal! Could you please "like" RMHC DAYTON on facebook?
Until next year friends.....Thank you. :)
