What gets on my nerves:
1.People who drive slow in the left lane.
3.People who show up at your house without notice (I love company but that's just rude!)
omg what if Jay Leno drove slow in the left lane to show up at my house, that might very well do me in....

In a word...WOW!
I've been a fan of John Waite for a looooong time. I've seen him several times in concert, interviewed him a few times, and have watched him perform 5 feet away from me in our studio. Heck, I've even been on the same cruise ship (Rick Springfield & friends 1st annual trip) with John. But the show he put on at The Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, Ohio last Friday night was exceptional!
I'll be honest, with the blistering heat of the week, I would not have gone out and sat in that to see very many artists. But on that short list....John Waite. So there I was standing on the side of the stage while my boss (Jeff) sound checked with his band "Stranger". Jeff had told me that John was going to sit in with Stranger and I almost didn't believe him! What headliner ever goes out BEFORE their anticipated appearance on stage? John had heard that a couple was going to get engaged during the Stranger show and wanted to be part of it! So during the SC out comes John Waite to run through "Wild Thing" with Jeff & the band. The smiles on all of their faces was pretty priceless :)
The meet 'n greet went off without a hitch. They got everyone ready about 15 minutes early and some folks got to meet and get a photo with John. He was in good spirits and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I was last in line & said something to him about being facebook friends and he grabbed me and kinda danced with me (can't wait to see those pics!) and I mentioned the cruise we went on with Rick Springfield & friends. He actually thanked me for coming out and for wanting him to come back to sing in Dayton. What a nice guy! Oh, and I LOVE the new short hair...very cool :)
I was honored to announce Stranger on stage. The crowd was into it, the band was into it - just an all-around great time. Then Jeff asks for Scott & Cindy to join him on stage. Scott had been setting this up for days and he got down on one knee and proposed. :) Jeff says "there's only one thing that could make this moment even better..." and out comes John Waite! The band rocks out "Wild Thing" with John before he said a few words to the couple, waved to the crowd and exits the stage. Stranger finished their set and then it was time for John Waite.
John's voice....I don't really know how to explain it except that it is magical. He just has this special tone that rocks your socks off one minute then melts your heart the next. It's always a great show when John takes the stage but this show just seemed extra special. The band....wow that band is SOLID. Rhondo on Drums, Keri Kelli on guitar and Tim Hogan on Bass. ROCK SOLID.
If you were there, you already know. If you missed it, take my advice: Next time you see John Waite tickets are going on sale, BUY THEM. Immediately. Oh, and do yourself a favor and get his new Live CD. Check www.Johnwaitethesinger.com for more info.
ALSO! There is a movement to get John into the Rock & Roll Hall of fame! Sign the petition by going to http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/johnwaite2rockhall.html
By the way, I got the info about this petition from a facebook friend, Jeff Koons. Jeff is probably the biggest John Waite fan around. He happens to live in the area and it was really fun to watch Jeff at this show as he watched his idol on stage :) I get it, Jeff. I totally get it :)
I'll post photos from the event as soon as I can! :)
