Yes, it's true.  I'm one of those stepmother people.  If you watch the animated movies you automatically think "ewww....wicked evil stepmother" huh?  Well my stepkids may have a different opinion, but I'm not. haha  In fact, I've never ever raised my voice to any of them.  Never had to!  I got pretty darn lucky that my husband and his ex raised some great kids :)  I haven't posted any recent photos so here ya go!

Those who know me and/or my family are just now picking their jaws up from the floor LOL!  Yep, these are those little kids I that used to post pictures of on family vacations!  Everyone says the same thing but it really is true...the DO grow up fast! :)

 A Canadian news station was doing a live report in Ontario when a woman walked into the picture in the background.  Had the woman not been so focused on her texting she may have noticed the camera crew.  She may also have noticed the steps before she fell down them.  While the reporter didn't notice the girl falling, plenty of passersby did.  Also noticing will be the millions of people who will now watch the clip on YouTube.  OMG now people will LOL at her!  ;)

WOW!  You miss a blog day and so much changes!  I hate to even have to say it....the death of Whitney Houston.  Whitney was my favorite female singer for the entire 90's decade pretty much.  What a tragedy!  My heart goes out to her Mother and her daughter and anyone else in her circle who TRULY cared for her.  She will be missed by all :(

Okay, one more thing about Whitney's death... I think it was SO creepy and tacky that the party she was to attend (a pre-grammy party from Clive Davis) STILL CONTINUED in the ballroom of that hotel even though it was known that she was deceased 4 floors above the party and still up there until after midnight when the criminal report had finished.  Seems to me that if someone was going to attend a party I was having dies instead...I'm pretty much not going to continue with my party.  Ugh...just creepy...

R.I.P. Whitney...we will always love you :'(

Oh my goodness!  I just found out that my friend Robyn's sister has been going through some really super tough health problems!!  :( 

With 'the big game' now over - HOORAY! No more football until next season!

Okay so I'm not the biggest fan of football.  Or any sport, really.  Not that I'm unamerican, I just feel like it is a huge waste of time!  Then again, some people think watching movies (something that I love to do) is a huge waste of time. So what do I know?! ;)

After watching the game I was just waiting for the slaughter that would follow.  Not of the Patriots...not of the Giants....of Kelly Clarkson and Madonna.  I was pleased to see the reaction to Kelly's performance of our National Anthem!  Critics were pretty kind although most seemed to focus on her bangs rather than her voice.  I thought she did a great job!  Not too traditional but not all 'out there' either.  The bangs and hair extensions were cool too. :)

I was pretty sure people would be talking about Madonna's half-time performance.  I was really hoping for a great performance and I personally thought it was quite good.  I don't think she really needed to add in all the extras except for maybe Ceelo Green (who did a fine job at vamping in "Like a prayer"). Now we have the whole backlash of the rappers flipping people off, etc...  UGH!  Was that really necessary?  I think not.

Bottom line...no matter who you are, you are going to be put under a microscope when you agree to be the 'big game' halftime performance, period.  I have to say that even under that kind of pressure, Madonna did fine.  The parts she actually sang in fact sounded BETTER than the original recording!

In the future I'd love to see an ensemble of 80's artists come together to do the halftime show.  Now THAT would be some show!  Starting with Rick Springfield, of course... ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY!

The facebook page MTV 1981-1989 has been doing some Friday night 80's video wars lately and guess who has been winning?  Rick Springfield!  Now we know that many other acts still have a decent fan base.  But I've said it before and I'll say it again:  I really believe Rick Springfield has the most loyal, dedicated fans in the world! This was the entire reason for my first venture on the Rick Springfield cruise in 2008 (then the final one in 2011) and the whole reason I shot pics and video. How does a guy keep such loyal fans for DECADES?  By being awesome :)

 Tonight I believe Mr. Springfield will battle Duran Duran.  The Double D's have quiet a fan base still as well...but I believe we could show them that my above statement is true and correct. What do ya say? "Like" MTV 1981-1989 on facebook and vote for our guy :)

 Side note:  In 2016 there will be a lot of peeved women out there if Rick doesn't show up in concert in this outfit from the video... ;) 

What a nice couple of kiddos these two are!!!  Rachel did a few songs and Andy did one (he's suffering some vocal problems) then both visited with our lucky Mix winners, took photos, videos, signed autographs...it was fun!  :)  Here's a quick video clip that I was (for some reason) unable to post on our facebook page:
